Bob Cochran

Bob Cochran focuses his practice on white collar crime, corporate internal investigations and health care litigation. He has substantial experience representing clients in white collar criminal matters, including environmental crimes; health care fraud and patient abuse; public corruption; drug offenses; and money laundering. Bob is actively involved in all stages of these matters, from preliminary investigation through grand jury proceedings and to trial. In fact, as a former prosecutor, Bob has substantial criminal trial experience, having tried many cases to verdict. In addition, Bob represents corporate clients in complex civil litigation, as well as administrative and civil matters with criminal overtones.

Cathy Dunlay    

Cathy Dunlay is Co-Leader of SZD’s Health Care Practice Group and Coordinator of the Health Care Transactions Practice Area. Her practice is devoted to representation of hospitals, physicians and other health care organizations and professionals in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and contractual arrangements, including a variety of hospital-physician relationships. She also counsels clients on operational and compliance matters. She has served as counsel in a variety of transactions, including purchase/sale of hospital and freestanding facilities, formation of cardiology, imaging and surgical joint ventures, establishment of shared diagnostic facilities, under arrangements ventures, acquisition of physician practices, negotiation of various management relationships, and establishment of clinical co-management agreements.

Lisa Han

Lisa Han is a Partner in the Health Law Practice Group and is Coordinator of the International Practice Area at Schottenstein Zox & Dunn. Her health care practice includes complex managed care contract negotiation, payor and provider relationship, and transaction and regulatory compliance for provider-owned managed care plans, hospitals and other providers.

Asim Haque    

Asim Haque is an Associate at SZD as a member of three different practice groups. Asim's primary interest in the health care space is the intersection between health care and technology, with an emphasis on the burgeoning life sciences industry. Asim holds a degree in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University, and prior to attending law school, Asim interned and conducted research at Children's Hospital Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio.

Chad Helmick

Chad Helmick's practice includes advising healthcare providers on a wide range of transactional, operational, regulatory and compliance issues. Chad focuses primarily on insurance, managed care, and payor contracting issues, physician employment models, fraud and abuse and other compliance issues, health information privacy, and contract drafting and negotiation.

Kevin Hilvert    

Kevin Hilvert focuses his practice on representing and advising healthcare providers on a wide range of transaction and regulatory issues, including structuring various equity and non-equity joint ventures and partnerships between and among hospitals and physician groups, developing ancillary health care businesses, and compliance with federal and state fraud and abuse laws. Kevin also provides legal advice and services to both healthcare and non-healthcare related tax-exempt organizations, with particular emphasis placed on nonprofit governance issues and regulatory compliance.

Jarad Hunter

Jarad D. Hunter is an operational, transactional and regulatory attorney in the Health Law Practice Group of Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, based in the Cincinnati and Columbus offices. He focuses his practice on creating and implementing efficient processes for managing corporate legal services, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, while meeting the needs of the charity or business. Jarad is counsel to two nationally-rated academic teaching hospitals. He regularly advises directors, executive and senior management and physicians for hospitals and health systems on matters that affect the health care industry.

Elizabeth Kastner    

Elizabeth Kastner's practice is devoted to representation of health care providers on transactional, regulatory, operational and compliance issues. Her experience includes providing guidance on fraud and abuse laws; negotiating and contracting for capital purchases; federal and state licensure and accreditation compliance; payer billing and reimbursement; health information privacy planning and implementation; managed care contracting; and advising health care clients on a variety of organizational strategies and planning.

Steve Kleinman

Steve Kleinman is a Partner in the Health Care Litigation and the Products Liability Litigation Practice Areas at Schottenstein Zox & Dunn. In his Health Care Litigation practice, Steve represents health care providers and suppliers, including hospitals, ambulance companies, physician groups, DME providers and long term care facilities in business, litigation and regulatory compliance matters, which include administrative proceedings before licensing agencies and boards, risk management and compliance advice, credentialing disputes, fraud and abuse investigations and general commercial disputes.

Peter Pavarini    

Peter Pavarini is Co-Leader of Schottenstein Zox & Dunn’s Health Law Practice Group and a Member of SZD's Management Committee. As Coordinator of the Health Care Planning and Operations Practice Area, he devotes his entire practice to the representation of hospitals, health systems and a variety of other health care businesses and professionals.

Tony Shaffer

Tony Shaffer concentrates his practice in health care and business law. He assists healthcare and other businesses to plan, negotiate and close complex business transactions as well as address day-to-day operational matters. Tony represents a wide variety of clients, which include health systems, hospitals, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic centers, outpatient service providers, nursing facilities, home health agencies, benefits claims administrators, insurance industry affiliates and manufacturing companies.
